Synopsis
An Iranian-American trans man travels back in time to an LGBTQ+ archive to understand his sexuality. He encounters his past and present during an erotic journey of self-discovery. The film’s portrayal of identity, sex, and understanding of the queer community is powerful and deeply moving. It’s relatable when the interviewees talk about the insecurities and challenges of being new and different in an established community. I found the insights provided into the risks this community faces to be insightful, but not in a traditional sense. I felt like the stories in this film simply showed me how to focus on issues that are hidden from view. I highly recommend this film. By getting to know the people around us, we learn more about ourselves. I definitely learned something from this particular film.
